Contemporary Vietnamese Art from the United States and Vietnam

This exhibition was curated by C. David Thomas of the Indochina Arts Partnership for the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service. The work was selected by Thomas with the assistance of the Ministry of Culture in Vietnam. All works are on loan from the artists of both countries.

The primary purpose for this exhibition was to unite these two populations for the first time since the war. All work in the exhibition was chosen to inttroduce American viewers to the relatively little known world of contemporary painting, sculpture, and mixed media works by Vietnamese and Vietnamese American artists.

A fully illustrated color catalouge of this exhibition is available. Please contact SITES for a copy.
